External Credit Courses

Concurrent Studies at a variety of Post Secondary Institutions allow students to enroll in courses that can be university credit as well as high school credit.  Students much be extremely motivated to enroll and regular fees for post-secondary credits are charged.  Currently Notre Dame offers concurrent post-secondary courses in First Year Psychology, English and Math through Corpus Christi College.

Other External Courses

Students can earn external credits by taking courses, programs or activities that fall outside the normal B.C. school curriculum.  Examples of these are:

  • Driver Training
  • Sports official
  • Music Development
  • Dance
  • Life Guarding
  • Special computer courses
  • Language Development
  • Sports Coach
  • Provincial or National Team member
  • Cadets
  • 4H
  • Scouts
  • Guides
  • Duke of Edinburgh Award
  • Fitness Leader
  • If you have taken any specific subject course, program or activity outside of school, please check to see if it can be added to your transcript (please see the BC External Credit site for details). Some courses have potential to be Arts Education or Applied Design, Skills and Technologies credit which can be used for the required credit for graduation.  Please bring the required documentation to Ms. Marghetti to be issued the credit, starting in grade 10.

There are opportunities available for students to upgrade or take a course on line that may not be available at Notre Dame.
